(WEE-ghurs) - "Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind" (1 Peter 3:8 ESV). Pray for Uighur believers to have a heart of love toward one another. Pray that they will be like-minded and quick to give one another the benefit of the doubt.
(tuh-RAHN-toh) - Please pray for a couple who serve in Canada. They will be on stateside assignment until April 2025. Pray for smooth logistics and good connections with U.S. churches that will catch the vision of reaching out internationally. Pray for them to have an amazing time with family, especially with their children and grandchildren.
(BUHN-duhl-kand) - Pray for the local churches in the Bundelkhand region to glorify the Lord as they praise Him together and lovingly serve one another. Pray that the Lord will add to their number as they seek to obey Him (Acts 2:42-47).
While sitting on a slab of concrete and watching children playing in a boat, a believer engaged in conversation with Lila, who was visiting from a nearby city and was in town for a holiday. This was the first believer that Lila had ever met. The believer shared the gospel with her, and Lila stated, "They told me in school not to believe you." Pray that Lila and others like her will have softened hearts to know and understand how much God loves them. Pray that even though she lives in a different city, Lila will have the opportunity to hear the gospel again and respond. "For 'everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" (Romans 10:13-14 ESV).
A believer went to a local market to buy strawberries. While purchasing the fruit, he struck up a conversation with the vendor. The believer realized that the vendor was an immigrant from a country he'd recently visited, so he showed him a picture from his trip. The vendor was ecstatic! The two exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet up for coffee later. Although they didn't have many words in a common language, they were able to meet alongside a friend of the believer who spoke a language that the vendor understood. This friend was a believer himself. When finishing their coffee together, the believers invited the vendor to a Bible study (done in the vendor's language) that week. The vendor said yes! He also said that he'd like to bring a friend! Later that week, the vendor and his friend did attend the Bible study. Give thanks to God that they attended. Pray that the vendor and his friend will think about the truth they heard there. Ask the Holy Spirit to put in them a desire to come back to the Bible study, and pray that one day, they will repent of their sin and put their faith in Jesus.
(ny-ROH-bee) - A worker was completing the teaching of a women's Bible class. She began to tell them how much the Lord loves them and sees them. Many of them nodded and said, "We love you, too." But one woman, with pain in her eyes, stood up and said, "You don't love me. You don't know me." The worker attempted to comfort her, but to no avail. The woman left, never returning to class. The worker struggled with the absence of the woman and how she'd sharply said that she wasn't loved. The Lord continued to reassure the worker and give her strength through His Word and the fellowship of those she'd come to serve. Fast forward several months, and some fellow workers started working in a new area. One day, their co-worker came out to this new area, too. After spending some time there, the workers heard their names called. They saw the woman from the previous Bible study. She'd moved to the absolute opposite side of town. In a city of over 4 million people, God had reconnected them! She was overjoyed to see the workers. Give thanks to God, who made it clear that He does, in fact, see her and love her!
"Please pray for my national partners, a couple who will be visiting one of the Melting Cities for a month. They will travel to three different areas, sharing the gospel and conducting training sessions with their coworkers. Pray that they stay healthy and face no security issues as they minister. May many people hear the gospel through them, come to believe in Jesus, and experience a profound transformation in their lives."
"Pray for the time of reflection that is taking place at the close of 2024," writes the Costa Rica Mobilization Team. "Pray for us to rejoice in all the ways we saw God work in Costa Rica during the year, and ask that we will have wisdom in making plans for the coming year. Pray that we will know what to maintain and how we need to continue growing."
(bee-koh-LAH-nohs) - Pray for men (heads of households) to be saved to lead their families in the way they should go.
(BAH-mah) - In the streets of the second largest city in Myanmar, a group of local believers started a program to train other believers in evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and leadership development through a church planting internship. This group comprises newer believers, older believers, the young, the old, the educated, and the uneducated. Multiple social classes are represented among the students. Pray for unity among the group, and pray that the instructors will be able to provide teaching that is helpful and valuable for each of the interns. As these partners work to plant churches among the unreached Bhama people, please pray for open hearts and open doors. Praise the Lord for starting three new churches in areas where these interns are working. Several new believers have been baptized and many are hearing the gospel. Pray that these interns would feel equipped and ready to lead these new believers, and that they would rely on the Lord's strength and wisdom throughout their ministry. Pray also that new ministry outreach areas will be opened and that many will be interested in hearing the gospel among a group of people who are very closed to the message. Ask that the interns will be encouraged by the work that the Holy Spirit is doing in Myanmar among the Bhama people.
(BAH-soo-too) - Missionaries Jake and Ginger Goss of Maseru, Lesotho, write: "We were able to engage two new mountain villages recently, the villages of Ha Tsolo and Leropong. Many of the people there had never heard the name of Jesus. While none have received Jesus yet, there is a lot of interest in both villages. Please pray that God will draw people in these villages out of darkness and that these people will commit to following Jesus. In particular, please pray for the chief of Leropong, who is a witch doctor and who showed significant interest in Jesus." "He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son" (Colossians 1:13 ESV).
(ab-i-JAHN) - "As 2024 comes to a close and our Abidjan Urban Team reflects on the year and prepares for the next, would you join us in praying that we will continue to seek God earnestly and that our souls will thirst for Him alone?"
