Greetings from Mark, Associate Director of Development for the International Mission Board (IMB). I am based in Alpharetta, Ga., and count it a privilege to serve Southern Baptist churches and our financial partners in the Great Commission task of reaching a lost world for Jesus Christ. I have been serving with the IMB since October 2002 after working in international business for almost 23 years. I have traveled to 13 countries in East Asia, North and Central America, Western Europe, and North Africa and the Middle East. As a result, the Lord has given me a broad understanding of different peoples and cultures and His great love for the nations.
One of my passions is to inspire people to become Great Commission Christians and to understand, embrace and practice the principles of biblical stewardship as Jesus challenged us in Matthew 6:19-21 and 6:33. My responsibilities include stewardship advancement with the Southern Baptist Convention’s top international missions-giving churches, assisting people with outright and planned gifts, developing stronger partnerships with Southern Baptist state foundations and securing grant monies from private Christian foundations.
My ministry and secular vocation includes serving as executive director of Middle East Bible Outreach, various sales/marketing management positions with DHL Worldwide Express and Emery Air Freight Corporation. I graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., and I will complete my Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2006.
I am married to the former Wanda Zobel and we have
two children. Austin is a junior at Clemson University
and Tyler Ann is a senior at Milton High School.
We are members of Crabapple First Baptist Church,
Alpharetta, Ga., where I serve as a deacon, adult
Sunday School teacher, and Mission Team chairman.
I was licensed to preach in February 2004 and enjoy
preaching and teaching God's Word to people in various
forums.
