SVM2 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

21 days of prayer and fasting for the global student missions movement

SVM2’s 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting - now through March 6 - focuses on returning to Christ as the Fountain of Life. The IMB's Student Mobilization Team is also promoting the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Highlighted in each of the 21 days will be the core elements of repentance, personal holiness, finding joy, healing, and satisfaction in Christ, and being channels of that Fountain to the nations. People Group Focus: Hindko-speaking peoples of Pakistan

In northern Pakistan lives a group of more than 5 million people. They represent a variety of people groups but are connected by the Hindko language. There is little interaction between these people and the rest of Pakistan due to rural living conditions and rigid Islamic beliefs.

The massive earthquake in 2005 provided many opportunities for sharing the Gospel. Believers still make up less than 1 percent of Hindko speakers

More about the Hindko-speaking peoples

Prayer Points for the Hindko-speaking peoples

  • 1. Pray that God will open the hearts and minds of the Hindko-speaking people and that they will hear and understand the Truth!

  • 2. Pray that the national believers will feel the grace of God in their lives and will be bold in sharing their faith!
  • 3. The earthquake opened many doors to closed areas. Pray that the Gospel will break through the places under the greatest stronghold.

Persecuted Church: Kenya
No part of Kenya has been spared from the violence destroying the country, not even slums where people have lived peacefully for years. One recent afternoon Martha, a slum resident, was visiting a sick friend. As she headed home, a group of young men attacked and killed her. Their reason – she was Kikuyu.

The heartbreak doesn’t stop with Martha’s death. Her pastor, Richard, is not being allowed to perform her funeral. In fact, because he and his family are Luo, they are not even permitted to attend the service. Read more . . .
