Caring for the needs of people is integral to the missionary tasks of evangelism, discipling new believers, training leaders and forming healthy churches. Healthcare missions gives access to the unreached, allows for intimate conversations, meets needs, makes disciples and empowers the church.

Asia-Pacific Rim

The Asia-Pacific Rim has a mix of countries, both those that are open to a traditional gospel witness and those requiring more creative access. In one country needing creative access, we have an opportunity to place a healthcare worker to connect with local clinics that serve a segment of the society that is unreached. Pray that God will send the right person to take this mid- or long-term position, whether that be someone from our organization or a Global Missionary Partner. Ask the Father to prepare the way for this person and to develop fertile soil in this hard-to-reach place. Posted November 2024

We have an outstanding system to help our field people with their physical health needs and to ensure that they and their families stay healthy on the field. This system relies on our medical coordinators, who are healthcare providers living on the field, interfacing with national healthcare systems, and advising our personnel when health problems arise. We are in constant need of healthcare providers to fill these positions. Please pray that the Lord will call out His people to step into these roles that are so vital to our work toward the Revelation 7:9 (ESV) vision: ‘After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.’ Posted November 2024

Nursing schools in Asia are intentionally training the next generation of nurses to reach the lost both in their own culture and cross-culturally. Pray for collaboration among these nursing schools as they share vision, training content, and tools to train up these young nurses to carry the gospel to the lost. Posted November 2024

Taking care of our cross-cultural workers is a big job. Medical coordinators need to know healthcare, know the systems available to our field personnel, and be able to help them get the care they need when illness or injury happens. Pray that the Lord will call out healthcare professionals to fill the role of medical coordinator for our field personnel worldwide. Posted August 2024

Agriculture and healthcare go hand in hand. When training people to improve their crops, it just makes sense to talk about their health, nutrition, growth of the children, etc. Such conversations dovetail nicely into conversations about spiritual things and natural gospel sharing. We have need of an agriculturalist, ideally with a spouse who has a healthcare background, to help in a center that trains nationals in all types of community development, agriculture, and community health. Much of the world is still medically underserved. Add to that low investment in public health programs in many lower and middle income countries and you have a lot of people who are suffering from lack of healthcare. On top of that these are often in places with high levels of lostness. Pray that the Lord will call out a healthcare provider to take a job in an African country that will allow the teams there to specifically address health needs, add health strategies to their church planting strategies allowing them to care for physical and mental health needs even while addressing the greatest need, lostness. This is not just in the United States. The desire to be healthier abounds globally and gives us an opportunity to connect with people. Ask the Lord of the harvest to give wisdom and creativity to His workers as they seek to develop health and wellness strategies that help people to get physically fit and also help them to find out how they can fit into the kingdom of God. Many places around the world have no access to modern medical care despite great strides in healthcare systems. Even in places with strong national healthcare systems there are still patients on the edge, not getting the services they need. One of these needs is prosthetic limbs (and other prosthetics). Pray for workers engaging with local believers reaching out to the community needing prosthetics services. Ask the Lord to give opportunities to share with these patients and the funding to continue to supply this need. Posted March 2024

In a mega-city in Africa our team is focused on reaching the whole of the city, this includes those living in slums, the refugees there, as well as those victim to the sex industry. As they reach out to women trapped in that life, they meet their physical and emotional health needs, but the need is great and the workers are few. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will call out His chosen healthcare workers with a heart for women’s health to come alongside and assist this ministry in effectively caring for needs and reaching even more women.
