DESCRIPTION

This trip has a minimum of 10 days although 14-28 days is optimal. More is encouraged (up to 60 days). Exact dates for trip will be set by Field Volunteer representative during Application process. Cost shown above represents an approximate cost for 7 days. This South Asian Hospital was started in 1973 as an outpatient clinic in a makeshift building for a rural area in South Asia. Today it is a 450-bed multi-specialty mission hospital serving all socio-economic strata of the society and leading the way in quality healthcare in the country. To enable quality healthcare, the hospital conducts many medical, nursing and allied health services educational programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. All leaders and staff are South Asian nationals. Healthcare Volunteers from all Healthcare Specialties are requested to mentor and teach staff. This request is also for Volunteers who have experience and expertise in the field of I.T., mass communication, health education, preparation of audio-video education materials and preparation of documentaries and promotional videos. This project is also open, on a limited basis for 3rd and 4th year healthcare students. Housing and meals are included. Additional costs can be incurred dependent upon your spending habits, local travel outside the hospital, and tourism costs should you desire to visit several of the tourist areas near the hospital.
