First Person: Experiencing God’s gifts

A global missionary partner (GMP) is a national church partner based overseas who is fully funded through a church, a network of churches or Baptist convention and who serves with an existing IMB team.

I’m Joseph. I’m from China, and my family and I serve in Europe. We’ve been here in Europe now for about ten months. Even though there are many difficulties, we are always very grateful.

We can feel that God is always leading us, and that He is always with us. So even though there are many battles, we are very grateful.

Finding a house in our city is particularly difficult. For almost two months after we arrived here, we weren’t able to find a place. Then, our church brothers and sisters fasted and prayed for us.

During the week of fasting and praying, we finally signed a contract for a house. The day the landlord called us, our whole family excitedly got on the subway to go and get the keys.

On the subway, there was a university student with many suitcases. I really wanted to talk with him, and ask him where he was from and where he was going, and I really wanted to help him move, because he had so many suitcases with him.

So while I was helping him move, I never could have imagined that the dormitory he was moving to was next door to our house, just across the road. I was so amazed and so delighted! I saw that God had not just given us a house, but also given us a big gift of a soul.

We were so thankful, and we were so delighted to share the gospel with this student. Because of our relationship with this student and our conversations, he accepted the gospel and has been baptized.

Because of him, and how our family watched God guide us, we are so grateful. We are thankful to partner with the IMB. We are thankful to work with an IMB team, because they have such a long history and experience in missions.

So we can learn a lot from their missions experience, and when we meet difficulties or hardships, they know how to pray for us and how to lead us through them.

In our place of service, our team leader has helped us and solved many things for us. So we have this team that we can rely on.

We are thankful God is leading us, and even though walking on this path we may encounter things we had never thought of, because we have the support of this IMB team, we can walk more quickly and more carefree.

Pray for Global Missionary Partners like Joseph serving all over the world with IMB teams. Pray their teams will be unified and care for each other, and bear fruit for the glory of God.
