Ministry Center Sharing Hope in Birmingham

Build vital Gospel bridges to a multiethnic, impoverished, urban community in Birmingham, England, through a local community center.
In Birmingham, the second-largest city in the United Kingdom, evangelical Christians make up less than 1% of the population. Long-term workers want to open a ministry center to reach Nechells, a diverse community in Birmingham that has no evangelical church and limited gospel witness. Your gift will support the Bloomsbury Hope Centre, a community center that hosts clubs and outreach for men, women, and children as well as discipleship groups for Christians from around the world. Ministries at the center include:

*Homework clubs that offer tutoring children and youth with schoolwork. The students will also learn about the Christian faith through a youth club, a holiday club (similar to VBS) and other regular community gatherings.
*Bible studies that share Scripture with women who gather regularly for fellowship. Long-term workers will share Bible stories that show how God is powerful and loving and can meet them in their every need and circumstance. The women will learn to share these Bible stories with others in their realm of influence.
*Citizenship classes that show men in the community how to navigate the challenging paths of becoming good citizens in the UK. They will also learn how Christian faith offers them eternal hope and ways to pass on their faith to others.
*Discipleship and training events for all ages.
*A place of worship for a small, multiethnic gathering of Christians who already gather regularly. With your financial and prayer support, this small, faithful gathering will grow into a viable church, and the kingdom of God will take root and expand into the community.

Please prayerfully consider a gift to Bloomsbury Hope Centre in Birmingham, UK. God is moving here, and your partnership and prayers are critical for the kingdom of God to flourish among them.

Location

European Peoples

With 810 million people, 51 sovereign states and 200 spoken languages, Europe is rich in diversity and character. These distinct cultures create a continent of global influence through language, politics, finance, fashion, and food. Though diverse, the peoples of Europe do have one thing in common—more than 98% do not follow Jesus.

Instead of seeing Europe’s decidedly post-Christian culture as a hindrance, IMB teams see the potential of what God wants to do on and through this influential continent. Not only do Europeans need the hope of the gospel, making it a primary place for ministry, but the global reach of its cities also makes it a strategic place as well. Immigrants comprise more than 15% of the population of gateway cities such as London, Paris, Madrid and Vienna.

Through dreaming big and taking faith-filled risks, IMB teams are connecting with European nationals, sharing the gospel and training local leaders. Their aim is to develop strong local leadership in every city and province who will lead biblically faithful and reproducing churches. Churches that plant new healthy churches will send the gospel to the nations of the world from every borough, town and village of the beautifully diverse continent of Europe.
