DESCRIPTION
The project is open to volunteers who are 18 years or older. Come to Canterbury to share the precious message of Christ with those who might have never heard a clear presentation of the Gospel before! Free housing is provided at the nearby home of a qualified host family. Almost all meals are provided for free as well! The aim of the outreach is to build genuine friendships with Chinese and other international students and sensitively offer them the chance to hear about the Christian faith. Volunteers will follow a busy schedule that includes training and Bible studies together with teammates in the morning. The trainings will cover a whole range of cross-cultural issues, how to naturally share one's faith, and how to lead a Bible study with international students. Join in afternoon activities like passing out flyers, sports, walks, etc. that will enable you to naturally befriend international students and invite them to evening activities. Each evening, your team will run a small Cafe with fun and creative activities which might include a BBQ, Team Games, Open Mic & Dessert, Egyptian Night, and more. During the evening, an optional Bible study will be offered in another room for international students who want to know more about the Bible. Other activities include a trip to the beach. The main requirement is a team spirit and a willingness to serve! The project is hosted by Friends International. After approval by the IMB, volunteers must apply and be accepted by the host organization as well.
