The Mevlâna Museum and mosque in Konya, Turkey. The museum is dedicated to Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi, more commonly Rumi, who was a poet and Sufi mystic. Konya is the birthday place of Sufism and the whirling dervishes. In 1273, followers of the recently deceased Rumi established the Sufi order of the Whirling Dervishes in the city of Konya.

Sille was one of the few villages where the Cappadocian Greek language was spoken until 1922, and it was inhabited by Greeks who coexisted peacefully with the nearby Turks of Konya for more than 800 years.
