Panoramic city views from Ankara Castle, one of the Turkish capital’s oldest sights, dating back to the Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman Empires. The overlook reveals the many red-tiled roofs of old Ankara’s historic houses, and more modern buildings in the ever-growing city. A single minaret spire appears in the foreground of the vista, used to stretch above the city line and allow for the Islamic call to prayer to echo across the city. Around 99% of the population is Sunni Muslim. IMB Photo
