Advanced leader trainings are being conducted to equip grassroots leaders and help to enhance their skills and knowledge. They are then able to go out and immediately apply what they learned. Each group being trained meets monthly for 10 months. Pray for the trainers in this program, and pray that those who are being trained will, in turn, train others.
(sow toh-MAY ee PRIHN-sih-pih) - Agriculture is the backbone of the economy of São Tomé e Príncipe, and cocoa is their main export. The country, the second smallest in Africa, is known as a peaceful and safe place. The agrarian society and peaceable nature of the people can create a sense of well-being that lulls people into thinking that they don't need God. Pray for the people of São Tomé e Príncipe to recognize that they are created to love and honor God and that the only way to do this "in spirit and truth" (John 4:24 ESV) is through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.tellhisstory@pobox.com
Bordering Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Switzerland is the Grand Est region of France, which includes the departments (similar to counties) of Alsace, Lorraine, and Champagne-Ardenne. Where historical battle lines and the trauma of previous world wars are still very present in the memories of locals, the evangelical church has been a source of vibrant community life and outreach, despite its relatively small size in a region that is predominantly secular, with historical Protestant or Catholic roots. With new churches started in Metz, Belfort, Strasbourg, and Colmar in the last few years, there is a growing network of church plants that count on each other as well as on the established churches for mutual support and encouragement. These stories highlight how evangelicalism in Grand Est is not just about numbers but about building relationships, offering hope, and integrating into local communities. While still a minority, churches and ministries in the region are finding ways to make a meaningful impact through both spiritual and social initiatives. Please pray for the salvation of the people of eastern France.
(MEE-boh) - Please pray for a Mebo village where there was a highway accident, killing one Christian and leaving 16 other Christians injured. The 16 are recovering, but even after a funeral service, there was another accident nearby, and people who attended the funeral were involved. It is complicated, but the enemy is using this to discourage believers. Pray they will stand strong during these times of trials and suffering. Pray for the pastor and his wife as they lead this church. Pray for their protection as well.pray4APAC@imb.org
(foo-koo-OH-kah) - Pray for the members of Sawara Baptist Church. They have a deep love for God and serve well. They recently had a team come that both led outreach and taught how to do evangelism. They also connected with many people who may be interested in Bible study. We hope to equip them with tools for effectively sharing the gospel. Please pray that God instills a bold, evangelistic heart and uses them to lead their loved ones to Christ. There are two people in particular, Meg and her daughter, who connected well with the community and are seeking. We know those who seek find. Pray that they continue seeking and that the church will have the joy of being used to lead Meg and her daughter into salvation and into relationship with the Father.pray4APAC@imb.org
(CHE-chen) - "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7 ESV). Pray that the gospel will spread without fear of conflict or in the face of conflict as Chechen believers experience a peace that exceeds anything they can understand.centralasianpeoples@protonmail.com
(KAYP town) - Enter a classroom in a township of Cape Town, South Africa, and you will find more than 30 old desks lined up with 60 children occupying them. Peek into the classroom after school, and you will see students coloring a paper book. What would make these older students so intent on coloring after school? Gratitude is blossoming within them! Often, people in townships live hand to mouth and do not consider where the food or clothes they have comes from. Gratitude cannot be expressed until a person learns that what they've received are not gifts from the ancestors' spirits or random chance. Missionaries Charles and Dohee Kim help the children realize that what they have received comes from God. As the children write in the gratitude journals, they attend Bible studies. At the end of each quarter's journaling, the children grasp even more that God gives to them what they have. They learn that God loves them. Pray that these school children will understand God's love and the salvation He freely offers to them. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 19:14 ESV).
After hearing the gospel from a group of visiting believers, Nordine has given his life to Christ. He is excited about his new faith and is eager to be baptized. However, Nordine is coming to Christ with a history of mental illness and drug addiction. Pray that God will miraculously release Nordine from the bondage of his past. Ask that he will no longer be drawn toward drugs and alcohol, but instead be drawn to the Word of God and fellowship with other believers. May his radical life transformation be a testimony to his family, friends, and neighbors. Pray that Nordine will be a light for Christ in a region where there is no church and very little gospel witness. Give thanks to God that there is one other local believer living in his town! These two brothers have met and have shared their testimonies with one another. Ask the Lord to strengthen a bond of unity, love, and respect between these men so that this may be the beginning of the formation of a church in their community.
(BANG-kok) - "In the aftermath of the earthquake that shook Myanmar and Thailand, people in Bangkok remain scared, cynical, and hopeless," IMB team members said. "Our team has noticed greater push back and turn off to the gospel in some instances as Thais have questioned, 'Where was your God in the earthquake?' At the same time, we have seen through digital engagement many individuals privately reaching out with questions such as, 'Why did this happen?' and seeking comfort and peace from the fear and uncertainty they have been facing. Please pray for wisdom, both for our team and local churches, as we look to speak the truth in a time where people are uncertain and afraid. Pray that their hearts would be opened to the gospel and not hardened by the events that took place in March."pray4APAC@imb.org
After studying how the Messiah came to fulfill the promises to Adam and Eve, Abraham, and Moses, a refugee named Faith has been walking through one of the Gospels in a Bible study led by believers. "The story of Jesus forgiving the woman caught in adultery is the best story we've studied so far because if Jesus can forgive her and not condemn her--even though He had the power to condemn her because He has never sinned--then that gives me hope that all my sins can be forgiven!" Faith said recently. "He won't condemn me either if I believe that He has the power to forgive my sins like she did." This hope has led Faith to proclaim Jesus and His life to others. "These stories are very important, and I share them with my friends and neighbors to give them hope," she says. Pray that Faith will continue to grow in the knowledge of Jesus daily and that she will boldly and faithfully multiply her efforts to share the good news among her people group and beyond.
