Shari met Francine at the park one day many months ago when Francine came up to her and asked if she knew of any churches in the area. Since then, she and Francine have become friends, and Shari has been able to share the gospel with Francine. Please pray for more playdates like these and more opportunities for Shari to share the hope of Christ with Francine.
(TOH-kyoh) - "Pray for windows of opportunity, connections, and spiritual conversations as the Tokyo university team begins concentrated outreach at various universities in Tokyo for the fall semester. Pray that many students will continue to come to our weekly events at our Story House Student center and will also participate in our Bible study."
The Daoli are an unengaged, unreached people group living in the state of Punjab, India. They have a population of 2,800 and are known as wheat grinders and fisherman. Coming from both Hindu and Sikh backgrounds, these people live in immense lostness. Please pray that the Lord will help laborers in the harvest field to locate and engage the Daoli people. Pray that He will prepare their hearts to receive the good news, and ask that the Daoli will give their lives to the only One who offers true salvation.
"Fear. I have fear," a woman said desperately to a new friend who had been sharing with her all week about what it means to live life without fear. She had fled from her home, lost loved ones, and seen such horrible images she could not get them out of her head. As she sat with this new friend, she learned of a Power who is greater than the powers that were giving her fear. She chose to surrender her fears to Him, and she surrendered her heart to the Son. By the end of the meeting, she was singing praises to the One who is greater than our fears. Praise Him! And pray for her family and others in her village who are still very much living in fear. Pray for freedom and salvation for these very broken people!
(DEL-ee) - It has been incredible for those around them to watch Daniel and Mathias grow in their relationship with the Lord and in leadership! Following a training on how to lead a Discovery Bible Study, which includes accountability questions on whom each person will share the gospel with, they made plans to join a group of believers who go out and share the gospel. After going out one time, the spark was lit! Since then, Daniel and Mathias have been joining this group each week, sometimes multiple times a week, growing in confidence and courage to share the good news. Pray that these young men will have opportunities to learn what it looks like to follow up with those who show an interest in learning more about Jesus. Intercede for strength of character, and ask that they will lead lives that are innocent and blameless and that they will lead other believers in their local fellowship to walk in the same manner.
"We praise the Lord that the church in the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico, called El Renuevo (The Renewal) is celebrating its 10th-year anniversary!" writes the Mexico Mobilization Team. "The anniversary celebration will take place on November 24. We are so thankful that the work continues, and we are also praying that they will be able to reach more of the neighborhood where they live. Pray that this celebration will encourage them and will strengthen their unity."
(HAHK-uh) - Puhsin Baptist Church in Taoyuan County recently sponsored a 2 Ways to Live training. In a community filled with Burmese students and Hakka, where traditional beliefs are heavily practiced, they report the effective use of this gospel presentation. They are willing to help train other churches in Taoyuan and are helping to translate it into Burmese. Pray for this church to become a leader in ministry and evangelism in this area of Taiwan, bringing the light of Christ into an area filled with lostness and darkness.
(sahn-tee-AH-go) - Pray for the wives of church planters and pastors throughout Chile. Family financial constraints force most of these women to work outside the home while also juggling significant ministry responsibilities in and out of their homes. Pray for grace-saturated friendships, opportunities for spiritual growth, and strong family relationships to keep these women (and their families) strong in the Lord.
(foo-LAH-nee) - "Western Niger Fulani are keen to listen to teaching that will help them take better care of their animals and their fields. This month, there will be an agricultural workshop led by a missionary with a Great Commission Christian organization who collaborates with our International Mission Board missionaries. He has invited our Western Niger Fulani Team members to the workshop to share a Bible story with the group. Pray for this opportunity to share openly with Fulani who may have never heard the gospel. Pray for hearts to be ready to hear about the Good Shepherd, and pray for seeds to find good soil."
Soumia had been a faithful Muslim. Ten years ago, she purchased several Islamic books to study so she could learn more about her religion. But as she read, she was shaken to her core and decided that she must be an atheist. Then, she began looking for truth online and through social media communities. Recently, someone online suggested that she read the Bible. Soumia read the whole New Testament and most of the Old Testament and gave her life to Christ. Then she met another believer and received a Bible. She never shared the gospel with anyone and had a list of reasons why she couldn't. However, the Holy Spirit had changed her so much that her younger brother noticed and asked why she was so different. Two weeks later, she shared the gospel with her brother and he also accepted Christ! Soon after that, she reached out to an old friend and shared, and he also decided to follow Jesus. Praise the Lord that He is working in and through Soumia! Pray that Soumia, her brother, and her friend will continue sharing their faith and that more people will believe. Ask the Lord to continue to deepen their faith.
Recently, a believer who used to live in the City of Salt and Light received exciting news from Coco, a close friend with whom the believer had often shared the gospel. Coco said she now believed in Jesus and planned to be baptized the next day! Pray for Coco to grow strong in her faith and to boldly share her good news with family and friends. Also ask God to embolden Coco's believing friend by this good news and encourage the believer to press on sharing the gospel.
