Thank you for praying and giving to enable us to reach nomadic people in the Horn of Africa for Christ. Due to the rugged terrain, security concerns and limited Christian witness, most people live and die without ever hearing the gospel. Your faithful intercession and generosity undergird social media outreach, translation projects, and community ministry to displaced and neglected people. Through our gospel ads and Scripture videos, thousands of people are encountering the message of Jesus Christ, many for the first time.

God and His people offer physical and spiritual hope in an area plagued by debilitating poverty! Our team held several food distribution events this year because of your gifts. At a single event, we offered food and the gospel to 300 people while a local fellowship partnered to provide clothes and school supplies. As a result, seven people accepted Christ! Local believers are following up with encouragement and discipleship.

This summer, we offered two camps for young people, allowing them to hear the gospel and encounter God’s love through relationships with believers. Many in our country do not know a single Christian. The first was a soccer camp. We taught new skills, ran drills, and played and played and played soccer. The joy on kids’ faces as they saw their abilities improve and experienced caring adults, made the hours in the sun worthwhile. The second summer camp was a Vacation Bible School. Learning stories from God’s Word, working on crafts, playing games in recreation, and singing songs about the Lord helped these kids understand they have a loving Heavenly Father with a plan for their lives.

The Singers lovingly call the people they serve the Sparrows. Sarah knows that a little sparrow may not seem important, but God knows when a tiny bird falls. He loves all people like the Sparrows, who do not know the truth of the gospel, and who are lost without a Savior. 

Goats are one way to share that message. The animals provide milk, butter and cheese. The Singers helped to raise and give goats to Sparrow women who could sell these goat products at the markets. They tried to provide the women with at least one pregnant goat to increase their chance of continual self-support. These goats were made possible through the generosity of people like you who support IMB’s work among the nations and who want people like the Sparrows to find the solution to their lostness.
